Further Our Knowledge of the Universe with APU’s Physics Major
Physics is the foundation for most science and engineering disciplines. By understanding the behavior of matter and energy at a fundamental level, physicists are equipped to further our knowledge of the universe through research and to apply knowledge to new technologies and engineering. APU’s physics major equips students to solve complex problems using conceptual analysis and mathematical techniques—skills that are highly valued by employers from a wide variety of fields—and provides strong technical skills in classical mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, waves, and optics; a strong math and computer background; and an understanding of how to seek out the core technical issues of a problem.
Student Portraits: Oganes Khatchikian
Oganes Khatchikian ’20 is a physics major at Azusa Pacific University. His experiences conducting research and learning from APU science professors led to a fellowship opportunity this summer at Caltech.
Physics also sheds light on fundamental questions of where we came from. In the APU physics program, students integrate physics with the Christian faith, thinking deeply about how physics can be used to make the world a better place, what insights our study of the universe can give us about the Creator, and how their personal skills and values mesh with their interests in science and their faith.
The Bachelor of Science in Physics国产偷拍视频 program at APU offers small classes (often 15 students to 1 faculty), a robust engagement with how faith and physics intersect and relate to one another throughout the curriculum, a close-knit community among students and faculty, and incredible opportunities for undergraduates to pursue research with faculty or internships during the academic year and summer sessions.

Is This Major Right for You?
国产偷拍视频You’re a physics major if you:
- Enjoy numbers, puzzles, and engaging mental challenges.
- Are thorough and detail oriented.
- Enjoy problem solving and logical reasoning.
- Like exploring how the world works.
- Enjoy approaching problems carefully and methodically.
The physics major at APU encourages students to learn the subject while also learning the biblical reasons for studying the field. This is made possible by reasonable class sizes and professors who love teaching just as much as they love physics.
Gain In-depth Learning Experiences
APU physics students often secure internships at institutions such as the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA), the Wynn Oil Company, and the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at the University of California, Los Angeles. Students also participate in cutting-edge, original research projects with faculty who are active in this field. Internships and research ensure that physics majors graduate with contacts in their chosen field, solid evidence of their skills, and substantial experience on their résumés.
